Alison + Dave | Engaged

We love because he first loved us.

ONE sleep. Tomorrow, these teenage sweethearts commit their lives to love and to honour one another. And I can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday.

Kate + Pete | Brandy Creek

Kate + Pete were married in among the rolling hills of West Gippsland in December – only a week before Christmas. The day was a sweltering 40 degrees which certainly presented challenges to the whole tribe involved in the wonderful celebration. But, in true fashion for these selfless, kind, and laid-back lovers – they took that all in their stride and used it as an opportunity to showcase their creativity. There were ice packs during the ceremony (which Pete lovingly held on Kate’s back during the formalities to keep her cool – bless!), dips in the river (a great location for portraits that served a multitude of purposes!), and wet face cloths for wedding guests (and this weary over-heated kiwi photographer!) during the reception.

The location for the wedding festivities were significant in the journey of these two loving souls. The ceremony took place in the beautiful established gardens of Glenfynne on the outskirts of the farmland of Drouin East, portraits were taken at the Drouin river (where Kate & Pete spent many Summer evenings cooling off), and a paddock at Kate’s old primary school (in fact, her Grade 3 Classroom used to be exactly where we took photos!). The reception was held at Brandy Creek Estate which has been a long-time favourite in the area for the couple. Famous for their Paella Feasts and beautiful Tapas, the wedding menu was a no-brainer for these two who wanted their wedding to reflect their low-key, relaxed style.

Kate wore:

Karen Willis Holmes ‘Madelyn’ dress

Karen Willis Holmes veil

Elizabeth Bower ‘Drew Drop’ earrings

Anna Campbell ‘Julia’ cuff

Aimee + Adam | Avon Ridge Winery

Aimee and Adam were wed in mid-Autumn amongst the golden vines at Avon Ridge Winery in the outskirts of the small country Victorian town of Maffra. Inspired by the Magnolia leaf, Aimee tied elements of the gold leaf, blush pink, charcoal, Doddavine and craft paper to create her theme and vision for the day. Both Aimee and Adam wanted to create an elegant, romantic and slightly rustic feel to the day. Avon Ridge Winery provided the perfect platform for Aimee and Adam’s creative vision – the venue is intimate, relaxed and is framed by rolling hills and lengthy grapevines.
